Sex Therapy
Are physical or emotional issues getting in the way of intimacy?
How We Can Help
A fulfilling sex life can be a vital part of a healthy relationship — but many couples experience challenges at some point. If things have changed between you and your partner, you're not alone. Whether the issue is emotional, physical, or a bit of both, Relationships Plymouth’s sex therapy service is here to help you reconnect.
What can sex therapy help with?
Sexual difficulties are more common than many people realise, and they can happen for a variety of reasons — from stress, tiredness and parenting pressures, to deeper emotional or physical concerns.
We support couples dealing with:
Loss of sex drive
Erectile difficulties
Premature ejaculation
Difficulty reaching orgasm
Intimacy issues linked to trauma, anxiety, or relationship strain
Sex therapy offers a safe, non-judgemental space to explore what’s going on and take steps forward together.
Our approach: three stages
Stage 1 – Initial Consultation
You’ll meet with a Relationships Plymouth sex therapist to explore whether your concerns fall within the scope of sex therapy.
Stage 2 – Detailed History
We’ll take a full history from both of you to understand your experiences and any contributing factors.
Stage 3 – Round Table Discussion
Together with your therapist, you and your partner will review the information gathered and agree on the best course of action.
What to Expect
Our sex therapy is based on talking — no physical examinations are involved. You may also be given exercises to do together at home, designed to help rebuild intimacy and connection in a private, supportive way.
"Counselling offers a safe space to express and explore feelings with someone who can help in a positive and practical way. It has helped me enormously on my journey to deal with anxieties and problems."
