Children & Young People’s Counselling
We support children and young people through a wide range of challenges
How We Can Help
Growing up can be tough — and children and teenagers often face emotions they don’t know how to express. Sometimes, what looks like just “a phase” could be something deeper.
At Relationships Plymouth, we offer a safe, supportive space where children and young people can talk openly about what’s on their mind — without pressure, judgment, or the fear of upsetting anyone.
Here to Listen – Whatever the Reason
We support children and young people through a wide range of challenges, including:
Problems at home
Bullying or friendship issues
Divorce and family separation
Big life changes, like a new sibling or moving schools
Low mood, anxiety, or feeling “different”
Our experienced counsellors offer a calm, private setting where young people can talk freely — away from school or home pressures — and begin to understand and manage what they’re feeling.
Helping Children Understand Divorce and Change
When families go through change, children can feel confused, upset, or even blame themselves. Our counselling helps them make sense of what’s happening, feel more in control, and build self-confidence. We want every young person we see to leave feeling a little lighter, a little stronger, and a little more hopeful.
Support for Parents Too
If you’re worried about your child and feel it might help to attend sessions together, we also offer family counselling. It can help you both talk more openly, strengthen your connection, and work through challenges as a team.
"Counselling offers a safe space to express and explore feelings with someone who can help in a positive and practical way. It has helped me enormously on my journey to deal with anxieties and problems."
