How We Can Help

Every family faces challenges — whether it’s bereavement, divorce, parenting pressures or communication breakdowns. These difficulties can place real strain on family relationships, and it’s not always easy to work through them alone.

At Relationships Plymouth, our family counselling service offers a supportive space to help your family reconnect and find a way forward together.

What can family counselling help with?

Improving family life and relationships

  • Supporting your family through separation or divorce

  • Creating space for honest, respectful conversations

  • Helping each family member feel heard and valued

Sessions are designed to be calm, respectful and inclusive. Everyone has a voice — and everyone’s voice matters.

What to Expect

Family counselling is usually held every two weeks, but your counsellor may sometimes choose to meet with individual family members separately if it helps the process.

Any member of the family is welcome to attend — parents, children, step-parents, grandparents, or anyone involved in your day-to-day family life.

And of course, everything you share is completely confidential.

"The counsellor was very gentle and effective, putting us at ease and helping us to see things from a different perspective. The issues we had were resolved and our relationship has improved considerably."
